Abamectin is a mixture of avermectins containing about 80% avermectin B1a and 20% avermectin B1b. These two components B1a and B1b have very similar biological and toxicological properties. The avermectins are insecticidal/miticidal compounds derived from the soil bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis. Abamectin is a natural fermentation product of this bacterium. It acts as an insecticide by affecting the nervous system of and paralyzing insects. Abamectin is used to control insect and mite pests of citrus pear and nut tree crops and it is used by homeowners for control of fire ants. Active Ingredient: Abamectin 1.8% -
The active ingredient of Dipel Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki (Btk) consist of a blend of bacterial protein toxins that ensure effective broad-spectrum control of damaging pests that target a wide variety of crops. Certified for organic farming. Active Ingredient: Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki. 26.0% w/w -
Omite is a contact miticide used to control mites on a variety of field, fruit and vegetable crops as well as ornamentals. Upon application, the spray must be applied to existing mites and mite eggs or any mites to come in contact with the spray deposits. Spray thoroughly to cover the entire plant surface. If temperatures are high at the time when Omite is applied, “vaporization” may occur and this reaction also contribute to mite control. But this process must not be used as a substitute for thorough coverage. Omite doubles up as a repellant that incites increased movement giving motile mites more opportunities to make contact with the spray deposits. Once in contact with this miticide, mite will stop feeding egg laying decreases and paralysis occurs slowly. Resistance to propargite products slow to develop. Active Ingredient: Propargite 57% -
Cartap hydrochloride is a derivative of nereistoxin which is a naturally occurring insecticidal substance isolated from the marine segmented worms, Lumbrinereis, heteropoda and L.brevicirra. This is an ecofriendly contact stomach and systemic insecticide and with its unique chemical structure and mode of action this insecticide effectively controls insects resistant to other insecticides. Padan can be applied as foliar spray or to the soil for control of stem borer and leaf roller on paddy and chewing and sucking insects on vegetables and wide range of ornamental plants. Active Ingredient: Cartap hydrochloride 50% w/w -
The active ingredient in Tempo insecticides is beta-cyfluthrin which offers a lower AI no odor and less visible residue. Applications of Tempo exhibit fast knockdown yet have demonstrated residual control for up to 30 days depending on rainfall and irrigation. This insecticide controls a wide range of pests in turf and ornamental plants: Turf Pests: Annual Bluegrass Weevil (adult), Ants, Armyworms, Black turfgrass, ataeuius (adult,) Bluegrass billbug (adult), Chinch bugs, Cutworms, Fleas, Grasshoppers, Sod webmorms, Ticks (including deer ticks). Ornamental Pests: Aphids Armyworms Bagworms Cutworms Fungus gnats Japanese beetles (adult) Lace bugs Scale insects (crawlers) Thrips Webmorms Whiteflies. Active Ingredient: Beta-Cyfluthrin 2.9% w/w -
Greenery White Oil is considered an organic oil and its primarily mode of action is smother or asphyxiating the insects and mites. White Oil has very little residual action however can repel insects from moving in feeding or laying eggs for up to two weeks. Can be used as a dormant spray and as a summer oil spray. -
Snail Bait is a commercial molluscacide with the highest percentage of active ingredient available. It has fine granules for easy spreading. The preferred method to apply snail bait is to have the ground thoroughly watered before treating. Preferable to apply in the late afternoon to dusk. Soil should be moist at the time of the application. Withhold water for at least 48 hours after the application if possible. Active Ingredient: Metaldehyde 5.0% w/w -
Initiator tablets provide enhanced growth and long lasting protection against the damage caused by various insects that attack containerised newly planted and established plants. The tablets are designed to be placed in the soil adjacent to plants for normal maintenance or in the planting hole during transplanting of seedlings so that the growing plant can take up the fertiliser. Can be used on a variety of different kinds of plants, for example, palms, azalea, eucalypts roses, and lillypillies. Active Ingredient: Imidacloprid 200g/kg -
This product contains a unique combination of iron phosphate, which is a plant nutrient that occurs in soils, with slug and snail bait additives. The bait which is not ingested by snails and slugs will degrade and become a part of the soil. The bait is ingested by slugs and snails when they travel from their hiding places to plants. Ingestion, even in small amounts, will cause them to cease feeding. This physiological effect of the bait gives immediate protection to the plants even though the slugs and snails may remain in the area. After eating the bait, the slugs and snails cease feeding, become less mobile and begin to die within three to six days. Dead slugs and snails may not be visible as they often crawl away to secluded places to die. Plant protection will be observed in the decrease in plant damage. Active Ingredient: Iron Phosphate 1.0%
